This session we will be exploring "Sgraffito"
Sgraffito (from the Italian word meaning ‘to scratch’) is a clay decorating technique where layers of contrasting slip or under glaze are used and then scratched through to reveal the lower layers of color.
This class is ideal for a range of youth:
Ages 3-5 - accompanied by an adult or responsible teen.
Ages 6-11 - on their own as comfortable.
Previous experience with clay is required.
*This experience does not need to have occurred at The MINT. (Chaffee, school, and other experience is welcome)
Clay and glaze can stain clothes. Please dress for mess!
Bring a snack and a water bottle, if desired.
Pre-registration is required.
$15 per youth, with discounted registration for COVID Impacted families and free registration for SNAP, 3Squares and housing assistance. Choose the registration option that matches your family situation, no proof of income is required.
Our youth programming is made possible through Expanding Access grant funding, administered by VT Afterschool.
