This class provides the fundamental skills and materials knowledge you'll need for future projects in the textiles lab. Students will receive:

  • An introduction to the features of the textiles lab, different parts of the sewing machines, basic setup.
  •  An overview of how to operate a sewing machine. Loading thread, bobbins, material; setting stitch type; moving fabric through the machine
  • Lots of hands-on practice and time for Q & A

This beginner's class is for anyone interested in textiles and sewing. This tool training is required before members can use the textiles lab.

POLICIES

This class is intended to provide basic training on, and independent access to, a specific set of tools at The MINT.  

Non-Members may take this or any classes at The MINT.  Become a Member to gain independent access to our shops outside of class time.
