Fusing Fridays

Join us for a hands-on journey into the art of Glass Fusing!

This 4-week introductory, project-based class will explore the fundamentals of working with fusible glass. Each week, you'll complete a different project while building your skills and creativity in this exciting medium.

Fridays: 10/9, 10/16, 10/30, 11/6

Time: 12:00 - 3:00 PM

What You'll Learn:

Glass Chemistry 101 – Understand the importance of COE (Coefficient of Expansion) and how it affects your designs.
Mastering the Kiln – Learn to safely operate a kiln and use firing schedules to create both flat and three-dimensional pieces.
Cut, Stack, and Fuse – Explore techniques for cutting, layering, and designing eye-catching glasswork.
Pro Tips for Success – Get insider knowledge to troubleshoot issues and perfect your craft.

✨ No experience necessary!

Stained Glass for Beginners: Rhombus Cube Sun Catcher

Join us for an introduction to our Stained Glass shop!

Using different colored and textured glass, we’ll arrange three diamond shapes (rhombuses) using the copper foil method to form a “3D” cube.

In this class you will leave knowing:

How to cut and shape glass from a pattern
Apply foil to the glass for soldering
How to use soldering irons on copper foil to join different glass pieces in a design
How to add a simple eye loop to a piece
All safety procedures for use of equipment and materials in the Stained Glass shop

This beginner class will get your foot in the door of the Stained Glass shop. This course counts as a foundational class that will allow you to work independently in the shop.

*Please wear close-toed shoes, bring water and snack. All other PPE provided by the Mint.

Fused Glass Ornaments

Fused glass ornaments are great small pieces of art to decorate any holiday tree or for gift giving.

You will learn:

Glass preparation for fusing
How to use basic glass tools for cutting and pattern layering
Kiln overview, glass technology and safety
Use of glass rods and frit to add texture to your projects.

Ornaments will be full fused after class and available for pick up following week.

Stained Glass Holiday Ornaments (11/28/2026)

Stained Glass Ornaments

Come join us and celebrate the season by creating your own stained-glass holiday ornaments!

Using multiple colors and textured glass, arrange your pieces to create a unique ornament. Perfect for your own tree or to give as gifts.

This class focuses on skills and familiarity with the process.
Students will leave with a small completed project.

In this single-session workshop, you will:

- Choose complementary colors

- Cut glass to a specific size and shape from a pattern

- Apply foil to the glass for soldering

- Solder the glass pieces together

- Add hooks for hanging

- Patina and polish to give it a finished look

*Bring a snack and a drink, as we will be taking a break in the middle of the workshop!

No stained-glass experience necessary.

This workshop is considered an Orientation to the Glass Shop for current Mint members. Onboarding for new members will be available.
