You're The Bee's Knees - Make Your Own Honey Pot

You won’t BEE-lieve how much fun you’ll have creating your very own honey pot! This sweet class is designed for potters who already have some experience on the wheel and are ready to expand their skills by learning to make a simple lidded piece. Add your personal touch to make it truly buzzworthy!

In This Class, You Will:

Learn to throw a simple lidded form
Throw a lid with a knob
Create a flange to hold the lid securely
Measure to create a fitted lid
Practice simple trimming techniques
Explore surface design options
Discuss and apply glazing techniques

May 27th, 6 PM - 8:30 PM

June 3rd, 6 PM - 8:30 PM

June 10th, 6 PM - 8:30 PM

June 17th, 6 PM - 8:30 PM

Important Note:

Please dress appropriately - working with clay can get a bit messy!

MINT Maker Camp: Youth Pottery Camp!

For 4th-6th Graders

Camp Theme: Youth Glass Camp!

Dates: July 13th-17th, 2026

Time: 8:30am-4pm (drop off between 8:30-9am)

Location: 112 Quality Ln, Rutland VT, 05701

Age Groups: 4th-6th grade

Cost: $300/ 5 days of camp

What to Pack:

Snacks and lunch for your child each day.
Comfortable, durable clothing suitable to get messy from clay and good for indoor and outdoor activities.
Closed-toe shoes with good traction, that are ok to get messy.
A water bottle to stay hydrated.
Sunscreen and a hat for sun protection.
Books, sensory items, etc. for alternative break time options.

This week-long, full-day camp offers a hands-on introduction to the art of ceramics, where students will master foundational hand-building techniques including pinch pots, coil-building, and slab construction. Throughout the week, campers will learn to manipulate raw clay into both imaginative sculptures—such as monsters and gnomes—and functional household items like planters, trays, and plates. Participants will develop essential motor skills and tool proficiency while exploring structural techniques to build height and strength in their work. We will also dive into surface design by using found objects like leaves and stamps to press unique textures into the clay, finally concluding the camp with an introduction to underglazes, where students will learn to apply decorative details and vibrant color to their custom creations.

MINT Maker Camp: Youth Glass Camp!

Closed-toe shoes with good traction.
A water bottle to stay hydrated.
Sunscreen and a hat for sun protection.
Books, sensory items, etc. for alternative break time options.

A week of all things glass! Each day will be filled with making art in both glass fusing and mosaics! We'll work together on a variety of hands-on activities that will involve learning how to cut glass, creating fused glass items like sun-catchers and learning mosaic techniques to create different kinds of mosaics (including garden stakes) throughout the week. This camp is intended for campers who will be able to attend all 5 days. All the activities build on skills learned the day before. Also, all projects will take more than one day to complete. Friday will be our grouting day so come in clothes that can get dirty! Get ready for a week of fun: creativity, innovation, and friendship!
